My Approach:
Perspective is Everything
I consider myself an “optimistic realist.” I’m over 50 and, with age, comes wisdom. I have the unique ability to see a lot of different sides, most likely because I’ve been there. I’ve lived a full and varied life … worn many different hats … have seen and experienced a lot personally and professionally. It helps me relate.
I’ve been healthy … and I’ve been sick.
I’ve been single … and divorced … and re-married with a blended family.
I’ve been a farm girl … and a city girl.
I’ve been a type A workaholic … and a suburban housewife on sabbatical.
I’ve been frugal … and financially secure.

I believe all the tenets and core concepts of IIN’s approach to
and teaching of holistic wellness, which are:
Primary Food: Achieving optimal health is more than the food on your plate. It's how you nourish yourself through relationships, spirituality, career and environment. Everything is connected. I’ll help you find balance in order to achieve a healthy mind, body and spirit.
Bio-Individuality: There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone is different. That’s why there are many diets and dietary theories. As your coach, I’ll work with you to find out what works best. The goal being a healthy eating lifestyle, and not necessarily a diet.
Individual-Based, Not Theory: We get inundated with nutrition information on a daily basis. So, when a specific diet doesn’t work for someone, it can bring a sense of failure. Yet there’s no one right diet for everyone. I’ll encourage you to explore what works best for your body.
It’s How You Eat: I want you to enjoy what you eat. That’s why we’ll work together on mindful eating and how to incorporate the pleasure principle.
Aim for an 80/20 Lifestyle: This is about progress, not perfection.
Eat Real Food: I’m talking whole food, not processed and packaged food, more vegetables, good quality protein, more water, more sleep, less alcohol and coffee. This particular diet and lifestyle changes can and do work.
Given Half the Chance, the Body will Heal Itself: We are a society that wants a pill for every ill. I’ll guide you on how to slow down and allow yourself the rest you need so that your body has the opportunity to heal on a deeper level.
Deconstruct Cravings: The body doesn’t make mistakes – it’s a super biocomputer! Just like your lungs never forget to breathe, your body knows what it’s doing. I’ll show you how to listen to your cravings and find healthy ways to satisfy them.
Fitting Out: Yep. This is the complete opposite of fitting in. And it is 100% glorious.
